"Roma" is the italian word for Rome.

So it does. Never mind.

Classic! The EPO comments never get old do they? So original!,
You should sell such large quantities. 10 gallons might last someone 40 years. So you lose a customer for 40 years.

cheers.
No, it's called sitting and kicking.
Sadly for Rupp, this doesn't work for him against the big boys so he has won only one major race in his entire long career.

Looking at the elevation profile, it could be that Salazar picked this race because it is kind of like Boston (downhill start -- hills -- downhill finish.)
On Galen's personality, I think he is anti-Nick Symmonds. Which I kind of like. In his interviews he often seems giddy in a nerdy kind of way.

For the most part, we don't inject our opinion on people's post. The only thing we do do is change the title of threads to make them more descriptive and then we tell people what the original thread title was.
No, libel would be like openly stating as a fact that someone (multiple people in fact ) is/are intersex/hyperandrogenic without any documentary evidence to back it up. Introducing the term 'libel' in the case here is totally absurd and disproportionate.
Ouch! Burn!
And totally correct. With all of the truly libelous posts/articles about female runners on LetsRun, crying "libel" over whether or not someone doubled back is pretty funny.
Surprised no one has yet commented that for the first time ever, Rupp raced in the Vaporfly Elite (the breaking 2 shoes). He wore the Vaporfly prototypes at the trials and 16 games, then the production VP in Chicago. Glad to see they finally game him a pair :) I was always curious why he didn't get a pair for Chicago.

Um, since Rupp objectively does NOT "win a lot" (with only one major international win in his career), you are going to have to thinking of another reason for those enduring allegations.
Check it here.
Nice Genealogy of Zoom X.
The Brojos should ban the ip addresses of jokers who take shots at them on this boards. THEY ARE THE BROJOS' BOARDS.

I totally agree.
I’m guessing that Rupp will run whatever the lead pack runs. He wants to win the race.
Hall always ran crazy from the front and got beat in the hills. Rupp won’t do that - and he shouldn’t. If the pack runs 2:06 pace, Rupp will be there. I don’t think he should act as the rabbit. He should go for the win.
Why try to satisfy the whiners on Let’sRun by pacing the pack?
Fair enough. 3 silvers and more than enough wins on the national circuit. Now a win in a solid half. Every race, he shows up. And it’s hard work, not charisma, that lets him do that.
Rupp is the GOAT of American distance running.
Check out the 180 turn on this video! Easily cost Rupp 4 seconds.

Yeah all those NCAA and USATF titles were just joke races. And of course the Pre Classic win, where he ran that embarrassingly slow American record. This guy just doesn't know how to win or run fast!

I think a fair criticism of any insider site is when there is a great performance immediately focus goes into how great was it, where does it stack up historically etc, instead of just appreciating it.
But we all know he ran 5947 and won Rome so people want to know more especially when so much of the sport is about times and we have courses not eligible for records etc.
I don't see a problem trying to figure out what this was worth on a flat course.
I think that's a fair point. I just think that the missing ingredient to any of those arguments is to know exactly what Rupp was trying to do here and how much was left in the tank. When he reached 10 miles and felt pretty good, was he all out for the record, or just running hard and hoping it came within the flow of what he was doing. When he was a half mile out, did he take a shot and just miss or did he see the clock and think, "If it happens if happens, but that's really a mission for another day"?
Had he broken the record by 15 seconds here (even though it wouldn't have counted) and then flopped at Boston, Rupp probably would not look at a fast half marathon as a nice consolation prize, but instead would probably wish he hadn't gone so far into the well in a tune-up race.
Weldon, you were always a big picture guy as a racer. You knew what you wanted out of each race and were able to put the good ones and the bad ones in perspective with the big goal in mind. That's why you were able to surprise everyone but yourself on big stages on several occasions. It seems like Galen has been able to do the same thing in his career. This was a really good race, but + or - 5 seconds doesn't really mean anything if it didn't help him get ready for Boston.
I am impressed because he had never run a very impressive half and because our top marathoners rarely do so, except for Hall's first one and a few of Ritz's. This can be a very fast course. It didn't play like a super fast course today. The two hills mean it's not quite as fast. The temps and dew point look good for running fast, while the wind might have helped a bit. It's still sub 60 and a big win of almost a minute, and not far off Hall's time at all, just 4 seconds slow and you know Houston was fast that year.
That 2:04-5 is going to come if he goes and runs a fast, paced race like Berlin. But the money after winning Chicago is going to presumably keep him running American majors for a while.
