Some monumental clashes between NCAA champions will be on tap this weekend in College Station.
Who has the edge in the men's 3k - Fisher or Knight?
What about in the women's 5k with Schweizer and Kurgat?

Id say Knight as the greatest shot at winning, but i would not be surprised to see Rory Linkletter win. He has a nasty kick and wants to BADLY! I also wouldn't be surprised to see all three BYU entries in the top 8. The only questionable one is Connor McMillan, but he has ran a 13:46 and 13:48 this year--winning both races and running more than half of the race completely on his own both times. Dark Horse i'd say is Andy Trouard

Wouldn't be surprised to see Linkletter BLOW UP like crazy in this race.

Don’t sleep on mike tate in the 5k, it’s GRIND TATE time baby!!!

Does Jack Bruce have any shot?

I think discussions of age in the NCAA can sometimes be overblown, but Kurgat turns 27 in June. That's absurd.

Kurgat may be one of very few African athletes that have come to the US with a valid birth certificate.
27 is old when competing against 19-23 year olds. Kudos to Kurgat for being honest.
The NCAA is the problem, not the athlete. -
No shot for Fisher.

You can never count out good ol ugly jack

Is there actual confirmation that Kurgat had a valid birth certificate?
It's perfectly possible that, like many of the others, Kurgat has a semi-randomly chosen age. Everyone just seems not to question this one because it's old. -

The age limitation is quite ignorant, and should be done away with. -

Jack Bruce isn't even the best guy on his own team. -
Fisher for the win!

I was not aware that there was a Knight/Fisher rivalry. I thought Knight was on another level.

Much credit to JK for 9th at Worlds and his XC title. But I'm sure he respects every runner in the field as a challenger, especially Fisher. I don't think there are "levels"- there is only a race, and one of many different runners could win the 5k or 3k this weekend. -
Watch out for the Utah State guy (Dillon Maggard) in the 3k. He qualified for the 5k also but is only running the 3k. I think he is letting some of the favorites get a little tired in the 5 so he can take the 3. He is very good!

There also was a psot in another thread that he holds the blue jeans mile record. 4:11. Very impressive. -

hahahahaha. Yes, Knight is on another level. It is on a level below unknown Andy Trouard.
