Imagine if the NFL DQ'd athletes for being offsides. Imagine if the MLB DQ'd a pitcher for hitting a batter. Imagine if the NBA DQ'd a player for setting a moving screen. This is just another reason why this sport will never be taken seriously.
Yes!!! WHY?!?? WHY MUST THIS SPORT BE SO LAME?! :’(

Then coaches would make damn sure their players never went offside.
Coaches are not training their athletes.
Indoor running is a circus so it's only right that they get clowns to do the judging!
At least in the women's 400 semis the clowns, along with their comic feet and red noses, were wearing their union jack hats!
(2 DQs advanced 2 Brits to the final!)
In this video I can see Russell (Bahamas) and the European athlete step on the inside line on bends.
I don't see when Taplin (Grenada, outer lane) or the Jamaican athlete do anything wrong.

Are you always this stupid or is it just right now?
other sports should learn from the IAAF's awesome insight into rules and regulations in sport.
BOXING
If a guy hits one mm below the belt line with a sliver of his glove (tape review), DQ the mfker on the spot.
FOOTBALL
Go offside, red card em. Rules are rules, don't break them and you're fine.
SKYDIVING
Make a rule you have to pull the "shoot" or your DQed. You have to maintain discipline at all times.
GYMNASTICS
If they make a mistake, just blow a horn, and remove the gymnast from the arena, using force if necessary.
SHOTPUT
instead of the current rule, if they foul, DQ them. Rules are rules, Discipline must be maintained at all times.
LOGO
If you are not wearing Nike, DQ them. Anyone caught saying that Nike uses slave labor in China gets a lifetime ban from the sport.
last but not least, lets award the championships to a country that will not champions and contenders compete.
this way, we can DQ more athletes, with less effort.

Sorry but that's a dumbasss response. A coach's job in track and field is to their runner to run fast. And if it requires blocks, how to start efficiently and swiftly. We don't need to DQ a runner in an international championship because he touched a ling. Add .05 or .1 to their time if you absolutely have to, but these are not DQ offenses.

the final of the 400 was a let down. IAAF officials were off their game and managed to only disqualify one third the field.
going a paltry 2-6. as compared to that wondrous Jordan=esque performance of liquidating the entire field (400 heat).
Ha ha
