Guys like Ordonez and Smaili are very good 800 & 1500 runners. As in 3:38-3:40 times (Brazier is nowhere near that. ) for the 15 (besides being 1:45 flat runners for the 8) . They have a lot more top level range than Brazier who is only an 800 runner. It's an advantage. Plus, they have more international racing experience on Euro circuits.
Are you kidding? Brazier “Nowhere near” a measly 3:40 1500m? He ran a 3:59 low indoor mile this year with a 54ish last 400m. He could run 3:39 at absolute worst. Probably more like 3:37-38. And in any case, 3:38-40 is not very good for a pro, even an 800m runner. These guys are small potatoes.[/quote]
Isn't 3:59 like a 3:42? Could be quite a stretch to say he would likely run 3:37. I don't see it.
