Shelby for 5th. Could see that turning into a bronze under certain circumstances...
Also, solid result for Mackey.

What? I didn't see that

If you call sticking her elbow in to Muir's chest and forcing her to run almost perpendicular to the track 'smart', I'd agree with you. However, most of us call that plain 'dirty'.

I don't either, but if I'm Muir's coach I would protest. Intentional or not....that really looked like she was going to pass Hassan.

What the hell is Hassan doing? Talk about horrific tactics.
I called it mid-race. Up until the last 20 meters, she was the best person over the last 1k but she was too far back.
ANd then the end was dirty. I think that's got to be a DQ. I don't like the DQ as being the only option. I'd rather see Muir placed 2nd and Hassan 3rd as you can't do that. If the Brits protest, watch out.
Gif here.

Of course it was intentional. Veering out from 40m to go, maybe acceptable; heading to the edge of the track at 30 degrees just as Muir comes to pass her with 15-20m to go, totally deliberate.
Agree with rojo...that was dirty and deserves a DQ.
Anyone actually know if they are protesting?

Clickbait. Thats all that is.
the more you through around "DQ!", the more clicks you get. Please stop. Let the runners run. That was totally fine.

Hassan has massive international experience. She knows what she was doing.
Dibaba might be back. I'm not sure how to take it, though, because she has done a lot of indoor racing, and seems to be in great form. Others still have a way to go.
I worried a bit, and thought this was going be another one of those use dibaba as pacer race, and then she tanks going down the stretch.
She turned it up around the last third lap, and just made runners bleed. A lot of runners had to go out sooner than expected.
Also, bad tactic by Hassan she was too far back for too long. I thought NOP corrected that. That was her problem in the past. She had to fight a little to get back to the top, and didn't have any gas left to hunt down Dibaba, and cheated a little to hold off muir.
Obiri does not look in form at the moment. It's indoors , so she is still trying to figure stuff out.
I'm just happy for Dibaba, and hope this a return to glory.....I root for all of them to keep Ayana out of the mix : )

Agreed. Disappointing to see that from her. DQ if I’ve ever seen one.

Pefect move? If Muir crashes into her, it's an automatic DQ for Hassan in my opinion.
Here is another angle.
https://twitter.com/letsrundotcom/status/969312726404255745That award ceremony for the high jump was nice and all, but I couldn't help but laugh as when the national flags were pulled up and the winner's is an IAAF flag since she can't represent Russia lmao.
Hopefully Muir learns from this and returns her the favor. Its clear only Dibaba may be slightly better than her.

Totally fine.
Let some tactics remain in athletics please.
Agree with this! It was refreshing to see her old speed back in the legs the final lap. I noticed several accelerations throughout that last 600m. She responded well.

And yet she spotted Dibaba 10-20m the majority of the race, possibly costing her the victory, which would imply she does not in fact know what she is doing.
Jokes aside, that was obviously intentional. Don't know the rules well enough to know if it is DQ-able though.

Dibaba is just as dirty as Ayana.
