Unfortunately most posters on this site haven't lived long enough to see the long term side effects of recreational drug use (especially recreational drug use at a young age). Harmless pot has been a factor in at least three suicides of people I have known growing up, and at least two individuals I have known that have had to check in to mental health clinics due to psychosis from smoking weed. It is not a harmless drug. I have seen it ruin enough lives to know better. This guy will be dealing with the adverse effects of this arrest for the rest of his life.
i am for legalizing, and yet, i also know the above to be true. it's bad for your lungs and your brain. my old daily habit almost flunked me out of college and definitely caused me depression. and i was addicted to it for sure.
i won't speak for others, but weed did not agree with me. to those who want/need to use it and want it legalized...more power to you. i do hate to see a kid's life get ruined over 3lb.
but wanting it to be legal and thinking it's ok to use are not the same thing. i've chimed in on a few other weed threads here to opine that it's not so benign as many assert...and was immediately labled a prohibitionist. that's not it all. i just think it's bad for your health, and should be added to the list of things a serious runner should never bother with.
