I think we should highlight the collegiate athletes whose "Dreams Become Reality" this past weekend at the conference meets.
Now some may want to focus on someone like Sydney McLaughlin who ran a world leading 50.97 in the prelims at the SEC meet and followed it up with a 50.52 in the final. Previously her best was 51.87 OUTDOORS. Clearly a great weekend, but she's already world class and we knew it.
I'm open for people highlighting the Sydneys of the world but what about the Abby Hong's of the world?
Hong a senior at Penn had never scored in the Heps before (Ivy League Championships). She left the meet as the 5000 and 3000 meter champion.
So post away the athletes who deserve recognition.
