We were thinking the LRC singlet went sub 4 in 16 years ago in this historic race when Alan Webb broke 4 for the first time,

but the LRC singlet finished in 4:00.15.

I talked to the singlet last night in an exclusive interview. She said that after coming so close to going sub-4, she was pretty devastated and vowed to never race a mile again.
"I was so close to becoming a sub-4 miler I could taste it. To come so close would be agonizing enough but to do that and also lose to a high schooler - even if he was bald - in the process was pretty embarrassing. I vowed I wouldn't run a mile ever again," she said. "But I've changed my mind now. Back then, only 237 Americans had ever done it. Now it's common place so I think I can do it while training for other events. And if I do it, I hope I can get Mr. Webb to sign me. 'Welcome to the club. Thanks for pushing me to sub-4.' - Alan " -
Best of luck to Ben tonight. I'm at the meet and would love to be apart of the history of seeing the letsrun singlet going sub 4.

LetsRun.com thanks the Irish people for supporting freedom and letting the LRC singlet be worn in all its glory.

About 2:01 for 809m and he's trying to move up. Go LRC/Ben!
-
Doesn't look like it will happen. No one following the pacer. And now a gap.
-
Looked like a 4:00-4:01. Crowded field, had to run a lot of the second half in lane 2

He tried to close the gap, and ran in lane 2 on at least one turn. I'm guessing 4flat high? He gets it in a better paced race, I think. Tough luck. -
It was a good effort. He made the move to try to go for it and led the chase pack with a couple laps to go but just ran out of gas. Nice running, Ben.

Hmmm. No results on the screen.
Our hackers are trying to adjust his time. -
Corey Bellemore good Canadian boy leading them through the splits at exactly 4m mile pace and everything like that, and he enjoys a couple a pops even while he's running . Atta Boy Corey -- D. Cherry

Got screwed by the lane draw. Lane 1. Had to waste a lot of energy.
Don't worry. It'll come. Nutritional meeting with Victor Conte is coming up. -
4:02?
Since when did hobbyjoggers wear the LetsRun(dot).com singlet??? -
Congrats on the great run, Ben! Big things coming outdoors.
