    (Sorry for the delay but I'm watching the Olympics on DVR about 30 minutes behind live)

    I hope everyone who is irate about all of the dark skinned NFLers kneeling before the anthem are even more upset after that display by that pale white dude.

    It always upsets me when athletes wrap themselves in their country's flag. It is not a cape or blanket and the athlete is usually soaked in sweat. If you can't hold your nation's flag up high during your victory lap then don't take it from the crowd. I didn't see Shaun White but that photo looks pretty damn bad.

    The flag code says a ton of stuff no one cares about:

    shouldn't be worn or used in advertising
    shouldn't be mutilated (e.g. cut into shape of USA)
    should be horizontal to ground, only parallel (no more flag tributes before sporting events)
    flag should be treated like a living breathing thing
    and much more

    Point is, no one ever regards the flag code as relevant, which is why people getting riled up over NFL players kneeling (which also in my interpretation would go against the flag code as disrepecting it, but it's a judgement call) are amusing when they violate the code as well.

    Personally, I side with the kneelers.

    He just won a gold, was out of his head with emotion and probably forgot he even had a flag in his hand.

    This is such a huge deal,!!! well no, not at all.

    Big deal: people getting shot, people starving to death. I could go on and on.

    Way down the list . Guy who just crushed it on his 3rd run for USA gold and drags the flag a few yards in the snow.

    I don't understand obsessing over a flag touching the ground but Shaun White is a known tool. He's been hated on the snowboard scene for years
