Agreed. If there was an environment of hazing and initiation on both men’s and women’s teams, they need to shut the whole thing down. Absolutely no place for it.

The female athletes on the team were across town at rival Occidental. There they burst into the student center to steal the statue of the Oxy mascot. During the caper, several of the naked female athletes held down a male student who was working the information desk. The male student is not pressing charges and has suggested the team return next week to steal more items.

Yes they shouldn't have 'assaulted' an employee but holding someone down while you take a photo is called being stupid in college, not an assault.
When I was a senior in college, me and the fun roommate were shooting fireworks out the dorm window. Our "responsible"roommate said, "Are you guys crazy? You could hit someone or start a fire and be expelled." We turned to each other and said, "Damn. He's right. We hadn't thought of that."
Now 20 years later, I can't remember if we kept shooting them off. I actually believe we did as it was fun.
I hope you made all of that up. If not someone please lock this man up and throw away the key.

Did basically the same thing 10 years ago & it was a hoot. Would do it again.
RANDOM HALL MIT RULES! Holding someone is extra credit, it's called Walk the Bear...
At least one of the three colleges involved, Mudd, Scripps and Claremont McKenna has a "code of honor" that students sign upon entering campus. It basically asks the students to maintain both academic and social integrity and outlines consequences in failing to do so. One would assume that this event would break this code of conduct if the athlete is affiliated with that particular campus.
these guys are local legends. Probably should b suspended for a week or two but still legends. Kicking them out of school is the most criminal act in this story. These must not b the scholarship speedsters or they would never have been caught in first place. Must b d3 walk ons.

"Despite the prankster nature of the students, the administration trusts students and there is a school-wide honor code" at Harvey Mudd college.

There arent any "scholarship speedsters" at CMS...
1) I dont know what a "five star" is, but walk up to a random stranger tomorrow and give them a noogie. Do it with a big friendly smile on your face so they know you have positive intentions. Report back with how well that went for you.
2) The difference between being pinned down by naked people and clothed people is the possible expectation of what is coming. A reasonable person may expect a much worse assault when the attackers are naked compared to clothed. Either way, a reasonable person may expect the attack to be much more serious than just being held down. They dont realizs as it is happening that it is just a stupid college prank.
3) ok, we will have to disagree about it being a potentially harmful or traumatic experience. Strange, since you then go on to talk about how you think it would be normal to fight back, that seems to imply you think it could be harmful.
My guess is you were involved or just lack empathy. I don't think I would be too bothered after the fact if this happened to me, and I wouldnt press charges. But i can sure see how some people might be traumatized by this.
I'm also perplexed by why you think it is irrelevant if it were and old woman who was attacked, because it was a male who was attacked. Are you saying if it was an old woman manning the desk that night, you would be on board with legal action?
Update: Woman's team reinstated, all men remain suspended

Sooooo does this mean they are cancelling their Rossi Relays track meet?
Unlikely considering that multiple schools would be affected. Their athletes might not be able to participate in their own meet, though.
Talk about sexism and gender discrimination.... Society is sure twisted.
This school newspaper is ridiculous. They're butthurt that track athletes are "stealing" newspapers and throwing them away.
