It's not funny. More puzzling that when everybody has heard this questioned one hundred times before - and what with the whole world being more connected then ever -
that American athletes still shout 'World Champions!' at TV cameras whenever Americans beat each other at American team sports.
And especially with football- most of the world just doesn't care.
More people watch the world track and field championships than watch the Super Bowl- worldwide.
I wonder how many people watch the Diamond League meets all around the world?
The Super Bowl Champions are the Champions of the NFL nothing more.
You can argue that the World Series champions are the best team in the world, but again- Japan plays, Latin America but it's not a serious sport in Europe.
Basketball- ok- the NBA brings in the best in a world wide sport but let's enforce basketball rules- you know, like traveling, palming, etc
