the site looks alright......... but maybe y'all should give more info about this whole thing. and one other thing; i noticed on the bottom of the site, it said that your organization was looking for 5k/10k athletes. what about others who are shooting for longer stuff such as half-marathon or marathon?
Team Brownstone - Rochester, NY - for elite athletes focusing mainly on the marathon. I think they have a website.
Please.... Who the hell is in Rochester? That sounds like an all talk no action kind of place.....[quote]rnr wrote:
People seem to float in and out. Eddy Hellybuck trained for awhile here. Todd Reeser (2.12 or 2.14 ish maybe)is a mainstay. Monica Hostetler for awhile (2.41 marathon). Wilson Perez is currently training (former Keene runner?) and a handful of developmentals focusing on qualifying for the trials. They get housing and coaching, team workouts, free physical therapy at the drop of a hat.
That's all I know. I'm an observer, not a participant. I thought runners had access to EH's place in New Mex for the winter, but Im not sure about that. I know most of the runners do not work.
Seems to have what was missing when I was just getting out of college. The new "training centers" endorsed by USATF is a good concept. Any word on how any of the other training centers are working out? Rochester is an option for east coasters who dont want to relocate west or at altitude.
Actually, in upstate NY (Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse) the competetive running scene is better here than in other places, as far as people to train with, money races, club opportunities. So Ive been told by those that relocate.
More info on the site would be helpful and might get you a bigger response. The logistics are always what kill you in planning anything, so people might be warmer if there was more than just an idea...a good idea, but one that needs more details.
