A late evening run around 9-9:30pm. There was a light rain but a decent wind (~15mph head wind), and about 35 degrees out. Less than ideal conditions for a runner in the southeastern U.S. A little girl was in her garage with her mom as she seen me pass by on the sidewalk and asked her mom what I was doing out there. The mom replied to her that he's doing what committed runners do.

(x) Doubt
must have been weaker wind, slow running, and loud talking from a garage.
"Maaaaaan, you have some sexy legs. Whew."
From about a 300 pound black lady in her SUV as I had just gotten done running and was picking up a pizza for dinner.
First time going to a new massage therapist and she comes in pulls the sheets back off my legs and asks 'Are you a runner'? That passes as a compliment to a 45 year old.
Girl drove by and said " I am jealous of the thigh gap"
After a solo track workout, a lady who had been jogging came over and said "I just need to tell you that you have a beautiful stride."
From a car of girls, "dude you are fine as F*&%!". I didn't get a good look, but let's assume they were attractive.
Years ago while running a 5K I passed by three girls watching the race from their porch. One of the girls said ,"Wow." The second said, "Great legs." The third said, "I like his hair."
My 5th year in college I happened to win a 5,000 at Marshall in a PR time for me. The guys from Eastern Michigan said "Bonnie" great race as I walked by afterwards!....she had graduated the year before but I was thrilled to be called "Bonnie" as she was really good....

I spent the previous winter in SC for work. My first day there it was around 45F, early December. It was a 40 degree improvement over the current temps at home, so I ethusiastically threw on a pair of shorts and tshirt and headed down the street toward the beach. Everybody I passed stared. Not in a "nice legs" or "nice form" sort of way, though. In a "she ain't right in the head" way.
“Nice tits Nancy Drew!”
Nice leg speed velocity

I had a very large black woman yell, "mmm-hmm, look at those legs. You keep running honey!"
1. That I look like a runner
2. That I have nice calves
3. Fast guys size me up at the start line of races because I apparently look fast (I'm actually not). I'm hear them talking amongst themselves and say things like, "Well, he's going to win."
Best compliment I observed (and she still talks about it):
Daughter partaking in a 1-mile race. Boy kept zig-zagging so she couldn't pass. She asked me what to do.
I told her to get up on his shoulder and slowly start accelerating, which she did.
After maybe a hundred yards of this, the boy just... stops -- and bursts into tears.
"Broke him like the twig he was."
When I was a sophomore in high school, a bunch of the football guys were doing some offseason conditioning work on the track while I was working out with my 4X800 squad. They had a big time DI recruit running back, and he kept loudly/excitedly commenting on our workout to his teammates. "Those are some fast dudes... Oh, they 'bout to do another one? How you gonna sprint a whole lap and then just come back and do it again ten seconds later like it's nothin'?" By the end, he just kept saying "those are some athletes right there!"
Realizing that a blue chip football recruit could be impressed with me gave me a big boost in respect for myself and my sport. I guess I realized that even if we didn't get much attention or many spectators, we could still get respect from other athletes who could appreciate our efforts and abilities, which I think is just as good.
'I can stand still faster than that.'

Oh, my bad. I think it was "Run, Forrest, run!"
At mile 20 of my last marathon - "Are you okay?" I was flattered someone cared enough to ask.
