Rupp should have been more like Hasay and focused on the 'thon. What is the point of racing if you are going to lose?
FWIW, Hall got 5th in 2008 at USXC before running 2:06 low in London.
Do we get to see Korir in another half soon? He's going to be able to scare the AR? Or Rupp? Is he planning on a spring half? Some big name races still coming up- RAK (next weekend), Barcelona, Lisbon, World Half Champs...
Has the US announced their team for the World Half Champs?
Bill Rogers raced plenty of distances in 'thon training. Good for Rupp, and congrats to Korir. Go Army.
Need more competitive races like this.

Was there any mud on this xc course, let alone hills?!
Is Jager update?

Lose? He was a second behind first place over a 6.2 mile race. Gosh you guys are so ignorant on racing.
I'm amazed the announcers didn't connect the dots between racing XC and preparing for Boston. It's pretty obvious why Rupp was there, to prepare for the hills of Boston, and frankly get in darn good racing practice in a stacked field with the Army guys and Jager.
Also it was funny how hard the announcers were riding Jager. After the move was made he didn't cover it they said to not count him out. Seriously, Jager isn't going to close a gap on Rupp and Korir over the last 1k.
No hills in this US road, I mean xc, champs.

One hill on back side of course
Why did NAE Hehir. I know it was on good terms but he would have been their #1 man! I know he’s in Philly going to med school but until M3 he can still train. Kempanain took off M3 and made the team!
This guy is tough! Move, wife pregnant and M1!
*drop Hehir
Yes, one steep hill on the back side of the course that thins the field on each loop and that, on the final loop, can be strategic before the final straight.
Congrats to Korir, who was better today. And appreciation to Rupp for taking time out of his big money marathon training to make it a hell of a race. If he didn't show, it would have been a little dull with Korir superior to the rest of the field.
Jager and Kebenei are no slouches and Korir and Rupp put a lot of time on them over last 2k. They were moving.
For those who asked about temps, it was mid-40's for the earliest masters race and low 60's for the men's senior. Just about perfect.
USA nationals will be back on this course next year, 2/2/19 as a Worlds qualifier. Hope that will attract a good field.

I think he chose to leave to go to Med School.
I know a friend of his from college and he told me that.
He had planned on running the yr before med school but still train while in school. On his Instagram page he wrote that an announcement about sponsorship was coming soon. Crazy when the rest of NAE men have all day to train and recover and he comes away with the faster time. Philly isn’t a bad place to train but not the AZ Mountains!
