So far my pay is down $2 per pay period this year. My raise hasn’t been accounted for and neither have these tax cuts while my increased health care costs are in there. Pretty good if my health care costs only want up $4 per month.
Anyways, the purposes of these tax cuts is more money for corporations and the wealthy, while the majority of us get crumbs. Maybe I’ll be able to pay half of next months rent or mortgage, whoopty do. I would be happier if there were concerted efforts to reduce the increasing cost of health care, education, job training, housing, and various other things are increasingly becoming ridiculous expensive and unaffordable, rather than the current practice of just handing everything over to favored giant corporations that buy off the politicians.
Also, these tax cuts are intended to balloon the deficit, so the GOP can come back and make draconian cuts to everything they don’t like and further increase the wealth gap and whatever else they have to do in order to maintain power where the actual majority doesn’t like them. You have to be delusional to thing these tax cuts will be beneficial in the long run. I literally don’t care about a temporary bump in my paycheck, because everything will still be too expensive and the government is being run by a corrupt wannabe autocrats and slowly dismantled by people that only care about their short-term pocketbooks rather than long-term anything.
While I don’t think the government should just give everything away for free and should spend wildly on social programs, I do know that it can play an integral role in equality of opportunity (not equality of results).
