SIMMONS IS AN IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10x800 from 2:15 down to 1:59, with negative splits on a number toward the end at 6238' is no joke in the offseason.
It is not Coe's workout of something like 2:02>1:52 (with hills?), but then that was near sea level. Coe should honestly have been able to hammer a 3k or 5k at that point.

come on guys.....that workout is not that impressive for those guys. They are running 800's at or slower than their 5k pace.
Honestly. 10x800 at 10k pace with 2:00 rest. That is called doing critical pace intervals. Good for them.
I find it interesting to see workouts that elites do, but it is not that impressive in the context of their ability.
It is like being amazed about the an article on the world chess champion, "chess champion solves difficult chess puzzle" ... or "NFL kicker makes repeated field goals in practice." Duh.
Also, the altitude does not affect altitude-raised athletes very much.

Technological snafu. What I was saying:
These guys got it exactly right. Decent workout for these guys in off season. I'd expect something more impressive in July, but this is somewhat unremarkable.

Somebody has an axe to grind! Jealousy? Slow @$$ rejected from the group? He's never been anything but gracious in my conversations with him. He's found a recipe for success, despite whatever controversy you personally want to attach to it. Why can't you just be happy for someone?
Not trying to be a jerk but why exagerate about the damn altitude in the video lol? I have run track at this exact highschool many times, it's not 7000 feet man its 6.2k which is not 7k.
Also - If anyone here is wondering how Joe Grey is so fast for a mountain runner, it's because he trains with this group.

Nope , just someone close enough to see the blank cookie cutter program (and i mean program , because its all 1 program he manages to stuff everyone into) He refuses to use anything else! disregard for the incredible talent within his reach , stamp , do this stamp keep doing this , !!!!
If he had half a brain he could really optimize their individual abilities and enhance the group !,
he has been approached by passionate high caliber coaches with the best interest of the athletes in mind but Heck NO
do the same thing !!!
do it again !!!
year after year !!!
Their success is a testament to the talent on-hand
sad sad case really !!!!
