My Dad got free tickets to the Super Bowl when I was a teenager so we went but it was the worst game and the worst atmosphere of any live game I've been to. I would go just because it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, but game aside, don't expect the typical atmosphere. Unlike all regular season and playoff games, the Super Bowl is played on a neutral site. Because of that and the fact that it's the league's showcase event and a big social event, the crowd is composed of not home fans but league executives, people who work for all the franchises, corporate affiliate execs, etc. and very few actual team fans. It's not a game atmosphere, it's a party atmosphere. Football is secondary. During the actual game there's not going to be the typical game atmosphere unless it's a last two minutes situation.
