He held the Guinness World Record for 'longest standing video game world record' with his Dragster time from 1982, until today. That wasn't his only record though -- he had over 100 suspicious records standing until the resolution, which will now be all removed from the record books:

Posting here because following this story reminded me of a certain other cheater infamous on these boards... I can draw some parallels between the two. For one, both were serial liars. The difference here, I guess, was that Rogers was already very good at his craft, but just couldn't settle, while the other wasn't particularly good at running and cheated to achieve mediocrity.
The fact that his times stood for 35 years and were still able to be challenged certainly makes me rethink how we do recordkeeping in T&F though. What do yall think?
