Having failed both med school and a physics degree, I would have been grateful at the time if someone told me I wasn't cut out for it. My daughter wants to become a firefighter, her dream job being a smoke jumper.
I don't want to sound chauvinistic, but I think this an occupation that should be reserved to men only. Also, to complicate the matters further, my daughter is rather obese.
Anyway, I realize this isn't about me but about her. Should I encourage her despite all odds or should I be frank with her?

How did you get into med school if you failed a physics degree?
Did you get some degree got into med school, failed med school, went back to school to get a physics degree then failed that?
Let her deal with it
