Ok, if the inevitable genetically altered athlete is gonna be reality in the next year or two and testing for it is basically impossible, we should all just become genetically enhanced. This is the only way I can see that it would be fair. Assuming there are no major health risks the only way to have an even playing field for everyone in track, or any other sport is to have everyone genetically modified in a similar way. Otherwise you'll have the rich athletes with their doctors destroying anyone else, even those who are more natually talented but have their own god-given genetics. Can anyone else see a fair way? I'm all for training hard and keeping things clean, that is what I'd prefer, but if this genetic injection crap is inevitable, I say we all go ahead and do it to keep it fair. Even the naysayers have to admit, dropping 2 minutes off your 5k time in a week would be lots-o-fun, as long as everyone else was going along for the ride. Ok, flame away.
