A little bit of a rust buster for Murphy. Although, he could run 1:50 in his sleep usually.

This can't be right, right?
very minor surgery 2 day recovery up and running
Best thing he has accomplished in the last 3 years? Nike out.
Decent result considering the surgery.
NOP = NOPE
The recovery didn't take that long, but it was still longer than two days. And the lead up to the surgery didn't allow him to run a whole lot. Still building fitness.

He was in a pink under armor jersey. Yet he still posts pics of him wearing nike gear while training, and hasn't updated his twitter bio.
either way, that dude is the least funny person to ever exist. Cringe worthy twitter.
And his running has been garbage the past few years.
Whaat!?
I've been at my uncle's 70th birthday and I'm trying to fathom how Clayton Murphy couldn't run sub 1:50.
All I've seen the homepage description which didn't mention a fall or something strange. I'll try and read details but I'm still thinking a) he got tangled up or b) jogged it in.
If he ran hard to line and didn't break 1:50 I'm totally shocked with the winner running 1:46.9.

A rust buster like his 1:50 two weeks ago?
where was that 1:40 that he tweeted about
He probably meant trying to run 1:4X.xx, and he sure was close!

As a fan, I would be devastated if Murphy never raced better than his 2016 season. Really hope his recent performances are due to a lack of fitness although I don't think NOP would race him if they didn't think he was fit.
Proof that Shalane visits the boards. Nice 3k, by the way!

Oh wow. Thanks for the info, I didn’t watch the race itself. I was thinking since he’s been working out in lots of Nike gear on social media that he would’ve had to still be with Nike. It’s a real shame, he put together a really good year or two but hasn’t done anything noteworthy since.
RIP Pat Casey
Everyone piling on Salazar/Julien for Murphy's struggles seem to be forgetting THEY weren't the ones who told him it made since to double up the 800/1500 last year...
his own arrogance and over confidence after the Olympics are to blame for his struggles since USAs last year. And the coach who let him believe that was a good idea shouldn't get to disappear without blame.

*sense, obviously.
Haven't had my morning coffee yet.
