I wonder if he is trying to win the thing or just keeping up the pace and then planning to drop out at 30k or whatever.
A half marathon is 97.5 meters (106.6 yards) longer than 21k. It may be close enough for a hobby jogger, but not when WR pace is in the mix.
Acknowledged. I get the magnitude, but a 21.13k split was not provided so, yes, semantics would have it that a true half split was not provided. I think most get the gist though.
I really wish they wouldn't waste time showing the third place finisher in the wheelchair race and then stick on him once he crosses the line.
Hey, there's a Starbucks!
If he drops out looking this good and still at the front I'll be annoyed.
I assume Kibitok wont have special drinks beyond 30k? right? Just will have to have water
Kibitok looks pretty darn comfortable. Are the pacers under contract to drop out or can they go for the win?
Who knows more on Kibitok? His history, PR’s, anything?
according to Berkeley Earth the AQI is around 400.....very unhealthy range.

Who the heck is Kibitok..someone needs to give that boy a real contract soon.
Felix Kibitok.
He has 3 results to his name in All-Athletics.com 1:05:48 for 10th in Eldoret half-marathon last October then 1:03:36 to win Nairobi Standard Chartered Marathon in November then 1:01:50 to win Adana Marathon in Turkey 2 weeks ago.
Totally unbelievable that he can do this. Born in 1991.

I imagine he wouldnt get his pacemaker's pay if he continues and places for money going all the way.
HOW FAR ALONG ARE THE LEADERS AND HOW MUCH LONGER ARE THEY EXPECTED TO RUn?
Timing site appears to be having problems. They've definitely hit 30k at this point but no splits.
The broadcast needs to focus more on the men's race. Kibitok is the story if he's staying in the race.
Did anyone stop receiving splits? Haven't seen one since 29k and it hasn't updated.
How do we know he's pacing? Just because he keeps looking back? Super inexperienced to be a pacer.
kibitok is 4 seconds ahead of the rest of the pack.
The depth in this race is incredible. Where are these Kenyans coming from?

I think he'll win or maybe someone from the pack behind him. :):):):):):):)
He's getting caught.
