Anybody know what her indoor season looks like? Future sub 16?
Is Grace Ping Update?

No idea, as far as her botched XC season, I think she has recovered and is just living life. Definitely a sub 16 as long as she can manage to stay healthy in future years. Looking at how Katelyn Tuohy’s season has been going, I feel like there is a revolution on the horizon for female distance running. The class of 2020 alone is showing some potential all-time talents.

No indoor season is my guess. Maybe no outdoor too.

Grace Ping ran a 9:45 3K in the USATF indoor meet #2

Little girls racing already after how CC ended? Hmm, apparently CC didn't make Daddy very happy.
-
Wow, that is a great time. I was wondering if she was just maturing and leveling off during xc but this indicates she was really injured. She crushed her sister who started beating her in the fall.

Dad seems like good guy.

Minnesota doesn’t have a Highschool Indoor season. I know she did Nordic Skiing in 7th grade. But that was before her move. -
Grace ran a sub 5 mile on Jan 21st

How old is she now? I've lost track.

Why are all these posts prefixed with "Is"?

Botched?
She didn't win everything in sight so it was a botched season?
When healthy she won every meet, when injured she won most meets.
3rd at state with a sore leg is not a botched season.
Unless you have unrealistic expectations. -

Ping beat the state champion by 50 seconds. -
5 for the mile and 9:45 for 3K (What is that for 2 miles? 10:30?)
Those times are not international level. She should be playing other sports or running for fun instead of trying to be
a professional at age 7. -
9:45 for 3k indoors is about 2 seconds off her pr according to milesplit.
and about 16:25 for 5k outdoors.
Her age 13 world record is 16:25.63.
According to one source the age 14 world record is 16:24.28 by Emily Pigeon.
Ping should get that this spring after track season. -
What about her sister? She was doing pretty well in XC.
-
Yes, that is the official 14 year old age record.
While Grace is presently faster at short distances, she is slower at her competitive distances. This indicates to me a problem with stamina.
Check out the Girls' Championship 5K Heat #2 at New Balance: nbnationalsin.com. Grace did use up some energy early in the race, but still she was running comfortably in 2nd at ~16 min. pace about 1/3rd of the way through the race when she hit the wall, ending up ~17:11.
So the Q is :Can she build up her endurance in time to go for those 2 mi. & 5K age records? -
Is Grace running high school track this season?

"Is [name] update? "and "[Name] goes home devastated" are classic letsrun.com subjects and have been for a long time. People do it on purpose because it's somewhat become a joke or a nuance of the site. -
