decent opener.
[i] Editor's note. Unfortunately, we believe it won't count as a world record as start reaction times were not recorded.

Below you will find 3 different videos of the phenomenal race which basically took place in a practice like environment - just a few fans. The 2nd and 3rd offer you the best vantage point of the race but the 1st goes on the longest.

Report Thread

It's a long season. Hope he didn't just shoot his wad.
-
Who cares if he peaked, that’s an insane result. Congrats to Coleman.
-
Former record was 20 years old, set by Maurice Greene 6.39.
Second place at Clemson was 6.57 Tevin Hester.

I said this in London, and I'm saying it again... he'll end up at 6.33 by the first week of March.
-
Wow
-
To run that time in whatever Mickey Mouse meet that was is pretty amazing.
Bigger news: Walter Dix is still racing! -
like i'se all told ya, that boy is quick !!!

How long before he tests positive?
-
won't be ratified, that straightaway is not legit and i doubt there's even drug testing at that meet
-
Why isn't the runway legit?

I wondered about the drug testing bit.
However if a DT has to be at every meet, it will certainly cut down record achievement. If it proves to be fact, why have any drug testing at all. Just wait and do it at a meet if they run fast. And test everyone at an international competition. -
Good to know, that 60m qualifies at a distance running site.
-
~3.88 seconds for the 40yd dash
-
not longer before he will be the best ever at this distance in terms of quality depth and this likely not being ratified will be a moot point soon enough. that was actually quite the field.

The IAAF requires doping control to be at the meet for a record to be ratifiable. They want "the first passing of urine."
For a National Record, USATF just requires a test within 24 hours, which is much more reasonable. So his record may end up getting ratified as a USR but not a World Record... he can join the club with Jenn Suhr and Mondo Duplantis.
I doubt USADA was there. You have to pay $$$ to get them to your meet, and I doubt anyone seriously thought that he was ready to break it. I'd love to be wrong though.
He should go run at LSU, they'll have testers there for Mondo! -
A world record also requires:
1. Zero gun test (could have been done by the timing company)
2. Electronic blocks (were not there)
3. Measurement report (easily available)
Unlikely it could be ratified as a WR but there is a chance it could as an AR. -
Eh, screw the iaaf. It’s a world record either way. Nobody has ever run faster.
-
9.7x this year for sure. If he can find any kind of finish in his career he will go under 9.70 at some point in time with legal wind. That start is electric.

I'm having whatever he's having.
