A fine alternative at what cost? You are going to have remove a ton of seats in order to accommodate a track at Autzen.
Look at an image of the University of Buffalo's stadium with a track. Then pull up an image of Autzen and compare them. See that line of people in blue on the left and right of the image from Buffalo standing next to the end zone? That is where the seating at Autzen starts. You'd have to remove all of those end zone seats, plus a good number of seats in the corners. Probably well into the tens of millions just for demo work and then you'd want to rebuild in time (which couldn't be done) for football season.
