All of a sudden, Roberston is better than D. Wanjiru, Adola, Kitata, Korio and Lelisa?

may have been better than them all along - might be the first time he raced any of them

Liberal use of the Farah method. Train in remote locations all year long.
For those who get angry at this, if you think Farah is a drug cheat and uses Ethiopia as a means to escape testing, then these two guys who have been away from NZ and training in Kenya/Ethiopia for their entire careers are more loaded than he could ever be.
Isn't this the guy who threw a tantrum during the Commonwealth games after being inadvertently tripped?

Well, Farah himself took that method from the East Africans....train there to escape testing...It should be more obvious now how E. Africans can put down so many people running world class times...

Except East Africans don't really have the option of training anywhere else. Half of them are training to get OUT of East Africa to begin with.

I remember seeing this a while back:
https://twitter.com/runninelvis/status/757469817871925252Complaining about noncompliant countries while making them his home base his entire career
They have spent YEARS training in Africa, living simply, training in large groups with incredible depth, breathing training, and return to home country rarely, like only if injured.
60:01 = #142 performer all-time (record-eligible courses) or = #169 performer all-time (all courses). So if "one of the best" extends to around the top 150, then OK. It's only news because he's not African.

You are an American fool, they aren't talking about his time and they aren't even talking about one of the best of all time ..... They are talking about being one of the best in the world right now .... Which he is, he beat a world class field, if he runs the world half marathon champs and medals (which he definitely could) then it will confirm that he is one of the best

I believe 60:01 is in the top 5 non-paced half marathons ever. Regardless, he just easily dispatched all of the stacked field including Adola (59:06), Korio (58:51).... So recent number #21 of all time and recent #9 of all time.
He actually mentioned that it was a disappointingly slow first half, and if they did have pacers pushing the through properly, there's no doubt he would have been under 59:00. Out of current runners, it seems only Cheroben could give him trouble. No one else.

There's a young man named Kamworor that would probably disagree with you.

Considering he won another half marathon in exactly the same time last year, no, it's not all of a sudden at all.

Are you mentally unstable?
All Western runners that train in East Africa do so to dope up, but the East African runners that train in East Africa don't?
Is that seriously what you are saying??
Also hardly any of the African runners try and 'escape' Africa. They all spend significant time training there/continuing to live there no matter how rich and successful they are. They want money like anyone else, not to escape to the glorious West. Fool.
Well if by one of the best you mean non-African then sure.

Well if one of the best who also happens to be a non African, absolutely! If you can't see that then you're really trying to be obtuse.
Don't forget his 60:12 at the Great North Run, only six seconds behind Mo Farah. Both Zane and Jake are studs.. they run balls to the wall, don't care about risking everything to win. If Mo Farah ran with the courage those guys did, he'd be the WR holder in the Half Marathon.

Hell no.
Those guys have become full marathoners. That's the difference. It's like with Mary K. She was a destroyer at the half marathon, but once she really started focusing on the marathon, there are girls like Jipchirchir, Kipkiruri who are way faster. However, Mary K can still race fast at that level and finish top 3
His 60 second time is slow, and adola was just out there working on speed. His focus is london, and he still came in second.

Lol. Is Jake not committed to full marathoning now? He was training for one in the fall and he has one coming up in 5-6 weeks.
He is not doing a fast one-Lake Biwa but we'll see what happens if he does something like Amsterdam or Berlin in the fall.
