Sounds like a hookup.
Today's country isn't that bad.
What kind of music do you prefer she listen to?
Go to a country show like Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt or someone like that and take a look around the parking lot. The girls there will make you a fan real quick.

Good troll thread.
Music preference reveals a lot about compatibility in a relationship. If you CANNOT stand a certain type of music, it will be very difficult to maintain a relationship with someone who LOVES it. The differences in your personalities run deeper than the music of choice.
Every long-term relationship I've been in, the girl happened to have similar music tastes. I've dated women who had vastly different tastes, and it never lasted. Music was not a driving factor in that. It's just a symptom of the underlying incompatibility.
I agree with this sentiment in one way or another. I think musical preference reveals underlying intellectual and emotional traits that are additional markers of compatibility. The kind of music you like can reveal more about you than you may realize. I have various anecdotal examples of this, but don’t want to get into them right now.
If somebody I date actually thinks pop country, pop music, trendy hip hop, and similar ilk is quality stuff, rather recognize it as formulaic, mass produced, catchy, garbage churned out by the music industry, this isn’t going to last long. We are going to have disagreements regarding our viewpoints over a broader range of issues. Yea, I admire and even enjoy the pop music genius of Ed Sheeran or Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood, but to actually really believe these entertainers are pushing the artistic envelope is something else.
I realize that I sound like an insufferable snob and I’m overthinking this. Most people listen to music as an escape or background noise to get through a car ride or exercise routine, and don’t put much thought into what or who they are listening to. But I also find that same level of depth (or lack thereof) is applied to other aspects of life, and that will affect how we approach, process, and discuss nearly any topic. Music is a aspect of human culture, perhaps more than we are aware of, and I can’t imagine life without it.
The Tennessee Stud was long and lean
The color of the sun and his eyes were green
He had the nerve and he had the blood
And there never was a horse like the Tennessee Stud
From one snob to another, well said. :)
Country? Yes. Hip Hop/Rap? No.
Give Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, Eilen Jewell, Mary Gauthier, Patsy Cline a chance and you'll change your mind.
On my own I don't ever listen to music anymore but my wife does. She either has classical music or country music on. Once in a great while she'll listen to the three-headed pop monster - Taylor/Beyonce/Katie (bygawd I hate those screaming idiots). Weird that she's a big fan of country music as she was born and raised in China though she's been in the US for over 30 years.
The real question is of you would date a girl who doesnt listen to lil peep or death grips, or a girl who listens to buttrock.

Yes, those are all example examples of actual country music artists (I'd also throw in Graham Parsons) but I believe it was already established that we're talking about Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, and Sam Hunt (aka bro-country).

I would seriously date, marry, and plenty of other things to Carrie Underwood.
I expect girls to have bad taste in music. I'm just happy when I find one that doesn't.

This is a somewhat serious question. I won't go into traits associated with liking country music. Just wondering what people's thoughts are. Furthermore, would you ever MARRY a girl who listened to country music? Would you allow her to play it in the car while on road trips?
Just pick a Democrat
This what their Moms look like.
https://www.ihatethemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/democrat_women.jpgLadies, take care of your self and your ethos.
Google one of these if you want to hear some real country:
Nowhere Road-Steve Earle
Guitar Town-Steve Earle
Walk Through Fire-May Gauthier
Long Way To Fall-Mary Gauthier
One of Those Days-Eilen Jewell
Dusty Boxcar Wall-Eilen Jewell
St John, The Gambler-Townes Van Zandt
My Mother, The Mountain-Townes Van Zandt
The conditional probability
P[thinks evolution is a lie | likes country music]
is greater than
P[thinks evolution is a lie].
Generally, conditioning on "likes country music" will lead to these sort of results. For instance,
P[thinks Trump is god emperor | likes country music]
is greater than
P[thinks Trump is god emperor]
or
P[thinks global climate change is a lie | likes country music]
is greater than
P[thinks global climate change is a lie].
You can go on and on with this. Liking country music counts as evidence that you subscribe to a number of silly ideas. It's just a part of the entire ethos of country music.

I'm not going to pile on here - in my opinion, country music is an outdated artform. I grew up in the country - and in small towns. Country music is about a glorified and exaggerated past, and not innovative or envelope-pushing at all lyrically or musically.
Essentially, country music is non-artistic. It's background music for people who want to pretend the rural past was always great and the urban lifestyle (which they likely live) is something foreign.
I wouldn't marry someone who liked country music, not because I hate the genre or people who listen to it, but because I wouldn't wind up in a relationship with someone who disliked interesting or progressive art.
Wow, this is an actual good post. Zero sarcasm...
As long as she chews Copenhagen long cut, then hell yeah brother, I'm in.
