Before the race? At the start line? Finish area?
How did it all go down?
Are you still together?

No but this one time I was in the top 5 on an out and back course. As we were heading back a friend who hadn't passed the turn around yet gave me a cheer, I gave him a wave back. There was a woman who was running right in front of him and she must have thought I was waving to her. After the race she came up and started flirting with me, asking about my race time and place.

And.....
You like cliffhangers when you go to the movies?!?!?
One of my guys set a school record for picking up a girl.
He was injured and not able to run, but he was able to walk and we had him as one of our squad for the racewalking event in the conference relay meet. They had the women's event and the men's go at the same time, and while my guy was walking he fell into step with one of the female competitors from another school. They started talking and obviously hit it off right away. By the end of the race he'd gotten (and memorized) her number.
His teammates were deeply impressed. Legend in his own time.
My brother used to hand out business cards with his phone number to the girls he would kiss while coming through Wellesley College in the Boston Marathon. A couple times they actually texted him after the race to meet up, although I don't think anything ever came of it.
I did chat up a woman at the awards ceremony once. I think we got together once, maybe twice for a run "date". Definitely didn't get horizontal with her, and honestly don't remember how it ended. It was 15+ years ago.
All the time...that's why they call me big man on campus. ?

This is worse than a 13yr. old girls fantasies.
About 10 years ago I won a small local race in about 17 mins. A very attractive girl that was in my company, but had never talked to was there and was impressed. We chatted a little after the race, then went on a couple dates. She lost interest and that was about it.
Yes, I met her and talked to her for the first time at the pre-race dinner...she is now my wife.

Maybe I should run the local 5k that one of my co-workers is the race director for.
Otherwise, the lack of replies in this thread show that this idea is merely a pipe dream.

Your school keeps a record for who has had the most girlfriends?
I ran XC race once and there was a girl there from a church I use to go to. I hadn't seen her in over a year. Before the race she said hi and had some small talk. I was too focus on the race, but in retrospect she was interested. Haven't seen her since and let her slip by.

He meant the speed that a large girl was lifted.

Or picked up the heaviest chick that ever attended that school.
Yes, a former Olympian (will not disclose which distance or year) but the more interesting question is 'did anyone ever rent Suzi Favor Hamilton by the hour?'

So you didn't meet at a race at all? You met in a lounge BECAUSE of the race, not AT the race.
