I wouldn't be surprised if Doha pays for her in some way, or this comes out of the Aspire Academy in Doha. Doha is truly a miserable city, but they're throwing money at people so why not?

I would find it surprising that Aspire Academy would have something to do with this, considering they are focused on developing male athletes. This is a Middle Eastern country, after all:
http://aspire.qa/aboutus.aspxLook at literally Bekele. People consider him bigger(mostly just the jealous haters which know nothing about running). He does have big strong leg muscles. He is not a stick insect like a lot of them elites, but he is still the best. If he needed to fight, he would be better then any of his competition. I'm sure Allie would be to. That is important nowday's.

Just because you never heard of her DOES NOT = "comes out of nowhere". Read at least a little then fewer people will accuse you of being so dumb.
She definitely did not totally come out of nowhere but her NYC race was a big breakthrough. The article below (which came out right before NYC) chronicles her career: Footlocker Finalist as a high school senior in Fall 2003; workmanlike college career at Wake Forest/Arizona State; 32:25 10K in 2012 (gets injured and misses Trials); steps back from full attention to sport in @2013; starts training a little more in 2016; runs a 32:09 10K at Portland Track Festival in June 2017; runs 2:29 at NYC.
http://featured.flosports.tv/allie-kieffer-chasing-happyExcess body fat and muscle has a negative impact on run performance. It's about discipline eating not obsessive eating. Too little calories is as bad as too many. The Kenyans eat simple healthy food and stop when they have had enough, no weight problems.
In America with our food culture we have made weight loss very neurotic. Either over eat or be anorexic. It's an unhealthy perspective. Look for the middle ground.

I applaud her for the face palm to the body shamers.

There are no 'body shamers'. It is fvcking obvious that she is bigger than your typical professional distance runner. Noting that is not hate speech.
People have made the same type of comments about Nick Symmonds build and also Erin Donohue when she was competing.
These women can blow anything out of proportion.

It’s cool to be a victim and blame your problems on someone else.

It's even cooler to create a controversy where no problem even exists.
Nice article (needs an edit here and there) thanks for sharing.
