What about having two message boards? One where we have to register and one where we can remain anonymous? Best of both worlds.

Difficult to choose among the eminently eligible quotes, this one will do: It's LR that's a bubble onto itself by allowing anonymous posters. No accountability for talking smack, nonsense & the like. Whether anybody learns anything of value on LR isn't an issue, happens more so on the main board than here among the messages. Fact trumps knee-jerk snide comments. Nothing that's ever been said here has negatively affects what happens in the Hansons camp, never will, because they just go about their ways in productive ways in a positive environment. The message board has always been a cesspool of useless commentary. Requiring transparency here would clean up this mess in one day. Per Trump & Sports Talk tv & radio - equally dead-end, unproductive entities.
Then “Runn” makes some ( well meaning, maybe?) poorly reasoned posts. Read the nonsense you are writing. What you propose is clearly overboard, almost witch hunt in the opposite direction. Never failed a drug test? Do you know anything about the news and history of doping in endurance sports?
The baseless accusations destroy most discussions about great races.
We all know the spectre of drugs is there but if we accuse every fast runner of using them then there is no reason to discuss.
It's not a witch hunt at all.
Then you name drop as if we should be impressed.
Tell me who's name I dropped? I didn't.
Do you even know the sex of the person who's name I dropped?
Yeah, I'm really worried about impressing people by saying that I talked to the parent of a great runner.
LOL
I know a guy who says that ALL runners are on peds and anyone who thinks otherwise is stupid and naive.
Really?
As far as the history- I've in my late 50's and have been following the sport since the early 70's.
I know the history.
My point was- this message board is a great resource and there are some great conversations here- we don't need people hijacking threads with baseless accusations- give proof- a failed drug test maybe?
Banning them from the message board would clean it up.
BUT- by getting rid of the anonymity we would eliminate most of that problem.
THEN- if someone wants to make a baseless accusation the person they accuse can confront them.
As far a that guy I know- I'd love to put him in a hotel full of athletes at a Diamond League Meet and have him tell THEM that they are all on PED's.
Or, keep one message board but allow it to be filtered. We could click a toggle button that allows us to view all posts or view posts only from registered users.
I really don't get this board.
There are not many US clubs that are better than the Hanson's. Maybe NOP and Schumacher. The women won club cross nationals and some of their men and women placed really well at the national marathon championships. Sure there are a half dozen Olympic medal pros that skipped who could have done better, but that does not seem like failing or Bush league to me. Otherwise no one should even bother.
There are 2-4 bigger national stages on which to perform. They are one of the premier outfits in the USA, so I don't get where they are small potatoes. In my opinion it's like an NFL team that goes 11-5 or 12-4 and gets to the second round or divisional championship of the playoffs. That's pretty damn good and with an eye on the next step up and to get better.
Unless they pony up too much $ ($500K range) to pass up, I seriously doubt the top pros would want to run for Letsrun.

So we can't accuse Lance Armstrong because he never failed a drug test? What an idiotic reasoning.
The Hansons are done, just like Hillary and other losers.

I'd say they are doing very well, it doesn't happen overnight.
This^^^ It truly doesn't happen overnight and most of you are clueless as to how good they really are.
How many clubs are really that much better? The above runners have the potential, let it happen on their schedule, not yours.

You'll flame me no matter what, because you're probably 20, but please grow up, I'm begging you. Life is better on the other side, trust me.
Thanks for all of you have made the Hanson's Project even more noticeable than they already are.

No, that's what's driven many away from here. Too little reasoned, articulate discourse. Too much bullshit & running down folks in an anonymous fashion. Make everybody register under their real names, no more bullshit one day later.

You don't comprehend too well, do ya 1stpost2018? Reread and let it soak in. He said if everyone registers under their real names, but they haven't done that which doesn't mean that him posting under an anonymous name means he's posting any differently if he used his real one---like being a troll prick like you imply you are when you post here. Lie down, it'll come to you.

I don't get it. Trump is awesome.
Libs never-ending bitching and over the top 24/7 hostility is standing up for their beliefs, but not negative. Got it.
Why turn this political? It appeared to be a commentary about negativity.
The argument should be that tha Potus is always upbeat and motivating. Or although I like what he is doing but I agree that he is a negative Nancy.
Why do conservatives think that a criticism of anything Donald means that it is coming from a liberal?
Relax. Take a breathe. And think with logic.
