How about coaches look at their athletes and the 3 seasons and plan around it. Runners can't peak for all three seasons, but specific cases may have them peak for a particular season (such as going on a one year mission in December - maybe you should peak for XC that year. You have a shot at making your countries' Olympic team - maybe you want to simply train through indoors and start being in good shape in early June, but peak in August. You are running out of eligibility after XC - maybe you want to peak for XC) Just a thought. All teams have the same issue. This allows specific teams to focus on one particular season over the other ones in specific years. Sounds good to me.
