I never understand why people get all hysterical over someone possibly taking PEDs. I personally think these are new times and everyone has to adjust to it.
In 2012 I paid a lot of money for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go to the Olympic Games and sit in the stadium and watch first hand the pinnacle of the sport that I have loved and served for over thirty years. five years later I still don't know who won the race that I saw, I cannot even believe my memory of watching it with my own eyes because six of the first nine finishers chose to break the rules. so I'm sorry, but I do not need your permission to be upset, annoyed and disappointed by their selfishness, their greed and their dishonesty for defrauding me of my own memories, to be frustrated by the inability of organising bodies throughout the world to confront this problem with the vigour and ruthlesness it deserves and I will not simply "adjust" to the idea that deliberate premeditated dishonesty is the new normal. if you can not or will not play by the rules then go play somewhere else.
nor do I have any sympathy for the argument that their lives are being "destroyed" by banning the drugs cheats. actions have consequences. if you know the rules, and you know the consequences, and still you cheat and lie and steal, then when you get caught you are responsible for your own downfall and cannot pass the blame to those who enforce the rules you ignored. it is not the judge's fault you robbed a bank.
Cheers.
