I'm shocked, SHOCKED, that Dennis Mitchell could be involved in such shenanigans.

The Telegraph link seems to indicate they were going to get the drugs from a doctor in Austria. The link on the Track and Field News site seems to indicate the doctor is from Australia:
Damn, and I was hoping that USATF would consider rehiring Mitchell as relays coach before the next Olympics.
The Green Machine was a cool name- nearly patented- and many thought it to be his number one qualification for the job. Gotta have a cool name.
Mexico will pay for the wall.
Ban Gatlin, Mitchell and Wagner. Now and forever.
I never understand why people get all hysterical over someone possibly taking PEDs. I personally think these are new times and everyone has to adjust to it. I get banning things that are extremely illegal like steroids but to go so far as to ruin someone's life for taking something you can buy from GNC is stupid to me which is what happened to that Russian swimmer that got chastized by our idiot American swimmer.
Forgot to add "Let the Natalie Wood jokes begin!"

Because it becomes a scripted live-action show, not a sport. It's fine if the IAAF and IOC finally give up any pretense of sport and make it like the WWE.
And then there's the unavoidable problem of damaging the health of athletes and then taking no responsibility for permanently disabling people with uncontrolled human experiments.
Don't pretend it's a sport when doping, just one of many forms of corruption. It's not.

Here's the full Telegraph article:
-He boasted that using drugs was a “daily situation” and his “field of expertise”. He said: “I cannot tell you openly in front of five people that this is what we’re always doing left and right. This is what track and field is about.”
-When the reporter asked how recently the agent had been involved with the banned substance, he added: “Three months ago. Before the season ended. Right now. Obviously, and as soon as the season starts.”
-As if to illustrate his point about the widespread nature of drug use in athletes, he continued by naming specific sports stars who were using drugs, including Gatlin.
-“You think Justin is not doing this? Do you think Dennis [Mitchell] wasn’t doing this? Everybody does it,” he alleged.
-The coach, who was himself banned after testing positive for testosterone in the late Nineties, also alleged that some athletes were using “tailored drugs” to avoid detection.
-The sports agent also made comments that raise questions about the effectiveness of doping tests and said some athletes may be using so-called “designer drugs” that cannot be detected. He said that the testers might be able to “see that something is going on”, but they would need to “develop a test”, and for that, “you actually need the product”.

Not sure how doping equates to scripting the sport. Doping was rampant in baseball during the Steroid Era, are you suggesting that all MLB games in the late 90s had predetermined outcomes? Sports with widespread doping are different, for sure, but they’re still sports, just played at a higher level.
Personally I don’t see why an athlete shouldn’t be able to risk his or her own health in pursuit of athletic achievement. Athletes sacrifice to varying degrees; for example, Farah was willing to be apart from his family for long stretches whereas many others are not. Why should the choice to use PEDs be any different? The concept of a “level playing field” is misguided given how many controllable and uncontrollable variables contribute to someone becoming an elite athlete.
