You only live one time. No one on their deathbed wishes they would of worked more. I stopped my stressful job at 24 yrs old realizing I wanted to enjoy my good years. Being 38 now I don't regret my decision in the least.
I bet plenty of poor people wish they worked more. Being young and poor is ok. Being old and poor is a special kind of hell. Which you'll find out because 38 year old slackers don't turn it around.
Hey thanks for the insult. I never said I was poor or wanted to be poor. But thanks for judging.
Being poor and being comfortable are two very different things. And being a slacker has nothing to do with being rich or poor. Many people work their butts off and are still lower class. This thread is about taking a pay cut for a better life. I still make make 6 figures but I am not making 250k anymore either - I took over a 50% pay cut. And there are plenty of ways to make a middle class living without working yourself to death. Its not worth working yourself to death to make 500k vs 100k unless you really need that bigger car or house to make yourself happy. I don't judge you by your car or house, I judge you by your life. If you work 80 per week I feel bad that you are trapped. You can't take back your younger years no matter how hard you try. At my first job I watched guys retire multi millionaires at 55 or so but most had worked so much from age 20-55 that the best part of their lives were gone - they didnt know their kids, they slept at the office multiple days of the week, they had terrible health, etc etc. Heck some died before they even made it that far. Nothing is worth what I witnessed. When I was in my mid 20s after I quit my job onto a different career path I was able to live at the beach, surf everyday, and relax...and I still was able to make over 100k per year, buy a house (two actually), and have a new car. Maybe I am a 38 yr old slacker to you or maybe you are just jealous of my decisions. People usually only insult when they have their own insecurities.
