So it sounds like the NCAA is going to create a web site data base where student-athletes from any sport can register to put their name on which will free them up to be recruited by any other program. No release needed, no permission to talk requested (which never gets denied). Never have to have an uncomfortable conversation with their current coach. Just list & then free to transfer. OK, fine, I get that. But do they realize us coaches are going to make sure that their scholarship is immediately cut the moment they do this? Because that consequence is going to accompany this decision. Would you athletes be so quick to support this change if you knew that it will mean all protections of your scholarship are off?
