I mean a semi anonymous guy just ran 2:03. That s at least 2 order of magnitude above Galen.
Rupp has yet to time trial a race so his times will not be up to par with other top marathoners. He is the best tactical racer in the marathon right now as well as the fastest over 10k (Bekele's track times were too long ago). I can see him winning almost any tactical marathon out there right now.
Speed is not everything, winning is.
A good racer knows how & when to use speed.
Meb hid from Berlin because he knew he could never do well there, he is slow.
That's right, runners and sprinters HIDE from each other. I've seen these games many times and men do it more often than women.
