Probably just keeps showing up for those appearance fees and doesn’t train like he used to. It’s hard to keep up the drive and momentum forever.

Lingering injuries
It's the "Ryan Hall effect".
He still believes he is a 2:02 guy....much like Ryan believed and believe and believed he was a 2:04 guy.
i would say its like komen...
super hungry for the money and nothing else, push super hard and red lined it too many times.
now i would say EPO, but as we all know EPO doesnt work. its too bad that snake oil was ever invented cause it has really caused some problems in peoples minds....as in making us all mindweak. EPO doest work....say it 500 times a day and you will see the light.
EPO doesnt work
PEDs dont work
being mindweak is the biggest issue, you just need to TRY harder
trying harder is more powerful than PEDs...cause duh PEDs dont work. trying harder is the ticket, but you must know that east africans are superior to everyone else in 800-marathon. once white people accept this they will just stop trying to compete. whites need to stick to "privilege" sports, you know the ones that cost a LOT of money that blacks cant afford. its only in these niche sports whites can feel good about themselves...oh one more thing, PEDs dont work.
oh lol sh*t totally forgot what this was about...wtf is wrong with kimetto....to many races that he red lined it, and he is waaaay older than he said. just like komen and webb you only have a few years if you red line it every single time you line up. say for instance lagat and mo...red lined maybe one or two times a year, and tried to do easy as they can and kick to a win.
those who red lined too many times in a row and are done now
- komen
- webb
- kaki
- kimetto
- rudisha
you heard it here, rudisha is done, i see 1:44s this year and then he retires
I've been told that Kimetto is one of the least educated and least professional marathoners of his generation. Essentially a polar opposite of Kipchoge.

To be fair, Hall was never a 204 guy on anything but a tailwind aided course.
You got love a good Seinfeld reference. Careful! The water cups on the course might look exactly like your coffee cup!
"Kipchoge is not the norm"
Kipchoge is half human & half goat! It was simply the pacers fault he didn't break 2 hours!

Next time use a military Humvee as a pace car

The real question is if you are the world record holder, how long can you keep using that to collect appearance fees?
As long as there are races that think your name/title bring some prestige and PR value to their event, you will keep getting paid to be there. Good on him.

Agreed. Why do we assume that someone who ran 2:02 should just continue to keep pumping those out? Kipchoge is not the norm, the marathon is hard. Running fast marathons is harder. You can't do it for ever.
Kimetto had a good run (hah!). Nothing is wrong with him.
There is most definitely something wrong with him! Ok sure 202 don't grow on trees, but we're talking about not making it half way in 1:06 on more than one occasion!
Man, it wasn't the AM/PM, it was the volume!

An ever better story line would be an elite that almost misses a race due to the power going out in his hotel the night before. Then, while leading the race and is about to win, he accidentally drinks a spectators burning hot coffee instead of water.

That's pretty dumb... but it would be a great plotline for a sitcom.
I mean I guess it would be a funny plot for a sitcom but it's a stretch. I mean you need substance to fill 22 minutes, the show can't just be about nothing.
Seinfeld didn't jump the shark but the lingering references to it have.
But has Dennis Kimetto's career jumped the shark?
Also where is Chuck? What ever happened to Chuck?

Yep. He's probably has zero motivation to put in the kind of work that made him run low 2s. Here could be minding his business at his beloved farm whilst having to entertain dozens of calls from agents offering hefty pay just to show up at races.
Agent: Hello Dennis?
DK: What? Who gave you this number? I thought I told you guys to leave me alone.
Agent: Honolulu just called and you won't believe what they offering.
DK: Okay, I'll think about it. *hangs up* Hello shiny brand new combine harvester.

How many more races is this dude gonna DNF/DNS? How do you go from running 2:02 to not being able to run 5 minute pace?
Not just Kimetto but the whole Kapng'etuny training group! Geoffrey Mutai and Co.
I think I remember this movie but the name escapes me at the moment. It was the subplot to a story about a young girl's strange, erotic journey from Milan to Minsk, right?

And Kipsa....oh, wait.
This. I think you all underestimate how much he must have put his body through to run 2:02:57!
