So many idiots on letsrun predicting a 3:30+ marathon... Symmonds ran sub-25:00 in the 8k in college and 1:42 at the olympics. He is one of the fastest human beings at 800m. He is a superhuman athlete. With 30 mpw training, Symmonds could beat 99.9% of the world at ANY distance.

Symmonds himself predicted a 3:30 marathon... guess he's a letsrun idiot lolol
You only win the shoes if you guessed the exact time. Besides, I was closer with a 2:59:34. Thought he would have toughed it out to squeeze under 3, but not quite.

Nope, just checked I win. I get the shoes from Running Warehouse, plus I have been putting in the miles while you have been trolling from the couch.
Was this the same contest from RunGum/Brooks or a different one? Guess I don't troll enough to know of the other one you speak of.
Really just joking, I was not aware of any contests here or otherwise. I just picked my best masters time and figured that would be close.

Meanwhile, a DNF for Nick Willis after going through 40km on about 2:40 pace? Looks like he pushed it too hard after 30 km. And Will Leer a DNF after running through 30 km just behind Willis. Marathons are hard! Definitely not to be taken too lightly by these middle distance guys. Hope they learned a valuable lesson.
Not sure if you're being serious but if you are ...
Yeah right, your average jogger clocking 3:30 thons could certainly teach the middle distance elites alot about running!!

Are you having a laugh? If Willis DNF'd a marathon at 6min pace, AFTER 40k, its because he planned to, or he broke his leg by stepping on a curb. He does 20+ mile long runs consistently.
