Claims his longest run in training was only 15 miles.
I predict 2:39.

He does not know how to properly refuel for 26.2

I would need more info about his training in order to give a hobby jogger prediction....just say’n ??

Right, there is a big range of training that "longest run of 15 miles" could encompass.
For example, did he do 50mpw of all easy running with a 15 mile long run only in his longest week, or did he do 80mpw, with lots of long tempos, including as long as a 15 mile marathon pace tempo.

You can easily find info about his training if you look for it... just sayin
Yeah but since Nick’s prediction is asked on this thread, why not reveal the training on here? After all, it would OR is a good marketing tool campaign for him and his Run Gum business...and I’m JUST Saying as well...?
I'll vote 3:21 and he will call it a "success"
he did really low mileage like he said 25-30 mpw average for six months. I feel like he could go sub 3, but with this preparation, he blows up from going 2:45-3:00 pace to 3:30 pace. 3:15-3:30.
he will have to walk part of it. Clearly he did not train his muscular skeletal system enough.....it's gonna hurt...those bones
2:25
Those who say anything slower than 2:40 is insane, dude ran 1:42 800m, 6:00 per mile pace is like walking for him.

I think this is true. 15 mile long run and just 25-30 MPW will make this hurt.
He COULD be sandbagging though. Let's say he had several runs of over 20 miles and was doing 60 MPW. What if he then runs 2:39?
He could say it was Run Gum that did it.
I don't THINK he's doing that...just providing an unlikely scenario.

My vote for NS and Run Gumb is to spiral into irrelevance because I can buy caffeine pills for a lot cheaper than that terrible tasting gum and he's a douche tool bag with chubby thighs.

If Nick runs 2:25, I will eat my running shoes.
There is ZERO chance he breaks 3:00. In fact, he's going to be closer to 4:00 than 2:25.
I'll check back in when he runs 3:50.
From Nick, “I’m going to try and go around 7:30’s and it’ll fluctuate a little bit since it’s hilly here, but again, I just want to have fun with it and really feel that experience"
2:25 lmao
he is an idiot and likely ruin his body trying to run this fast. He wont break 3:20.

Why should we care how a slightly overweight retired 800 meter runner who stayed in the sport two years to long, self promoting ego centric now trying to take advantage of the marathon market with zero credibility or knowledge of the distance trying to promote his run gum like the carnival huckster he is.
I ran with Centro at Chicago and at 6 flat pace through 25k he was chatting to everyone around him, laughing, joking like it literally was jogging. Warm up pace.
Obviously he's in better shape and obviously 25k isn't 42k but I'd still say sub-2:50 with ease. 2:40-2:50 is the range I'd go for.

your logic:
Matt Centrowitz, a currently professional and elite 1500m runner who is likely training as a 5000m runner, can run 6:00 pace for 25k easily.
Therefor, Nick Symmonds, a retired and overweight 800m-1500m runner who is barely training at all, can run 6:00-6:30 pace for 26.2.
Anybody running 6:00s in Chicago should be smart enough to know that Symmonds has a small chance of running under 3 hours. He has also stated his intention to run 7:30 pace, or a 3:16:xx marathon.
again...3:21.
Run Gum has a contest where you can win something if you're right about Symmonds' time.

I have no use for a year's worth of gum(!), but I'd take a free pair of shoes.
I'd guess something around 3 hours. Talent doesn't go away, but it does get older. A few years ago, if he'd given himself 6 months to train, I would guess quite a bit faster but I doubt he's really in marathon shape now.
