Please excuse my ignorance, what "bad hires" were made this summer and what makes them "bad hires"? I'm just really curious how you're evaluating these coaches and what qualifies you to critique their performance?
Reasonable people will agree that, no one except the staff know what is going on within a program except that staff. That being said, how can YOU (an outsider) berate a coach for not meeting YOUR expectations of success? You don't know the staff, support staff, student-athletes, administration, scholarship allotments, team dynamics, etc. All those factors contribute to the success or lack of success any coach experiences.
I would like to know your particular accomplishments and failures. Are you willing to be critiqued by the same standards you're holding these coaches to? If so please provide us with your resume and training philosophy so we can all benefit from your expertise. I'm NOT at all being condescending or sarcastic, I just want to be a better coach and have an opportunity to learn from someone that knows how to get it done.
I have no clue who it is you’re having this arguement with but geez I would suggest getting laid first, that should take the edge off. From there, I’m sure you could be a much calmer, reasonable coach which usually helps with decision making skills. You’re either a young kid eager to swing his pecker for contest or bitter about your situation. If a coach gets a hire based on his past relationships(former coach, etc) more power to him. But If he hasn’t proven himself likely it will be shown in a few years if he was deserving of that position. You put mark wetmore at a bottom of the conference team, in a few year I bet your ass you’ll see some improvement.
