Just saw a tweet from USATF that it will be on demand later today. So it was filmed but not shown live. Unbelievable.

Qualifying Guidelines:
Athletes must meet at least the “B” standard in order to enter the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Marathon event.
The qualifying mark must be made on a USATF certified course, in an event sanctioned by USA Track & Field or a member federation of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). The course must be USATF/IAAF/AIMS certified with an active course certification and have an elevation loss no greater than 3.25 meters/km. All course configurations will be accepted (no minimum separation).
The Men’s and Women’s Marathon qualifying standards must be met from September 1, 2017 to January 19, 2020*. The Men’s and Women’s Half Marathon qualifying standards must be met from September 1, 2017 to January 19, 2020*.
All qualifying performances are subject to verification
“Gun” time is the only acceptable method of timing. Chip/net times cannot be used for qualifying. Consideration may be given to “chip/tag” times for competitors with “gun” times extremely close to the above qualifying standards.
Athletes meeting the “A” standard will be provided funding support consisting of a minimum airfare and lodging. Details will be released at a later date.
Yeah the tracking via text is a joke. It's so delayed that the three athletes I was tacking are done, showered, mostly likely drinking a beer and yet I've only gotten updates thru 20 miles. (and when the 20 mile update came thru they were all done running!)
Two of my Strava buddies got sub-2:40 PR’s and one got his first BQ! Seems like a good marathon to run! I want to run it someday.
Probably cause most people are scared to try it....Have you ever tried it?

I kinda thought she might run better.
have there ever been FOURTY men otq at a marathon before? 53 women too
so nearly 100 OTQ from one race? is that a record?
that course was a ski slope, plus lots of tailwind today

Great run for the Americans, overall, I thought. Disappointment about PS.

Why is this self-centered? I don't know much about Patrick Rizzo -- what's the context?
CIM has had the same timing mat locations for years, and unless USATF was going to pay for the extras, there was no reason to add more. It is very uncommon for a race with only ~10,000 runners to have more than 3 mid-race timing mats unless the course is subject to being cut. CIM is impossible to cut (on foot) so you don't need any extra timing mats.
This tread is a perfect example of why LRC posters are idiots. All the experts "educating" everyone as to why there is no tracking at CIM only to find out there is. The ultimate mic drop and the tread ends leaving a permanent record of all the know-it-alls and their made up "facts."

Do you realize this thread is from 2017?
I didn't even realize this was a thread. I thought it was a "tread." I am so confused.
