This is also why York won things as "Kroy XC".

Yet, Wayzata has also won this meet in the past and won it as Wayzata!?!
Makes no sense!
I saw Loudon Valley at the Oatlands Invitational in September. It was ridiculous.
They came awfully close to sweeping the Varsity A, Varsity B and JV races. Their JV squad (their #15-21 runners on the team) probably could have won the Varsity A race - and this is a major invitational.
Hunter has a hell of a program.
So how many of the top 7 actually live in the loudon county district versus those who transferred in. MD has had to deal with transfers stocking teams for years. Remember the Eleanor Roosevelt girls. Transfers from 5 different states all in the same year. Dalton Hengst lives in PA and competes for a MD team

Yeah, they certainly are damn good. What's crazier even is how much they've improved.
I ran for four years and we never once made it to states. I think we only went to regionals once! And it was in an easier division back then, I think.
To put this into perspective, I was the fastest runner on the team my senior year and was the captain...And my PR was only 17:50!!! Now they AVERAGE 15:50!!! Mind is blown.

and did you notice that some clubs had their high school coach coaching them, and some teams were able to run 7th graders, some clubs came from large metropolitan areas with open enrollment and several thousand kids on their school, and some even were allowed to use their school name on their uniforms!

It would be nice if Nike set some standards that would create more equity between states, but like the prior poster mentioned -you can't make everything completely fair, some teams will always have advantages over other teams.

That might reduce the numbers that attend these Nike Regional $$$$ makers. I really think it is great that they put on the great event, but it appears they are taking in a ton of cash at the Regional level,

They all live in the district. The school is full so they cannot accept transfers. You have to live in the boundaries to attend.
I traveled to Portland two years when my kids qualified and I have been a fan ever since. Nike does an unbelievable job. People can sit behind their computer and "what if" all day long and not come up with a better system. Every idea I have read has either been filled with unintended negative consequences or ideas that would go against Nike's interests. That is not going to happen. For the rules - they leave it to the states. If you are eligible to run for your high school, you are eligible to run at NXR. Enough said.

Safe to say Macdaddy will forever be remembered for having a cloud in his brain. It's foggy up there.

Quit your crying you little baby. They have a very strong program. They don’t recruit, it is a very transient area and new residents with running teens obviously want to buy a house in LV district.
LOL @ any parent who would buy a house in any district just for HS running ??
Job security? Yes.
Family Safety? Yes
Child's Academics? Yes.
Child's running? No. Hell no.

I’m gonna spell it out for you guys... your argument against LV winning bc of transfers is ridiculous bc nxn is a club nationals, they can have whoever they want on their team. Just be glad there isn’t a club team who is made up of the top 5 in the nation- which is legal

Bill, You are incorrect based on what I found on Nike's website -
Teams:
Teams must be made up of the same athletes that competed on the school team. All-Star teams or teams made up of athletes from different schools is not permitted.
Would be nice if each school used their own school name and even better if Nike would make their tops the same color as each school typically wears to make it as easy as possible it identify the teams both on the course and in the results.
The schools you see running with the same name as their school either have a name the same as their city or a nearby landmark.
For example in Utah, American Fork High School is in American Fork, Davis is in Davis County and Timpanogos is in Orem in the shadow of Mt. Timpanogos.
The Hunters are great coaches -- looking at Drew and Jacob and also Alan Webb (they coached him as a freshman). Maybe that's why LV is such a great team?!
And again, even without their two "recruits" or transfers this year, they would have got second by four points.
LV definitely deserved the win. I myself live in VA, and watching them race throughout the year, they have really worked hard for their win and they deserve the attention that they are getting.

Dalton Hengst attends a boarding school. Not sure if he boards but I assume so.
Marietta high school from Georgia had singlets that said Marietta on them maybe 2 years ago when they went to NXN.
