I should chime in here, and I'm sure the WR holder will as well. I failed in my attempt, ending up with 100 miles and 80 beers in the 100 hours. Those were 355ml beers, the equivalent of 113.6 250ml beers, and though they were almost all crappy beers, they weren't light beers (min. 5%abv). Anyway, good luck with what you're attempting here, which is basically the equivalent alcohol consumption as my 80.
I don't agree with "Strategy"'s strategy. 1 beer every 20 minutes sounds easy on paper, but if you get drunk it's basically game over. You want to be permabuzzed until the last few hours, at which point you can pull out all the stops. Other than that there should be no spike in your drinking - or running, for that matter. For me, 15 miles is a hard long run but 8-10 is nothing, so I found it best, after the first long run, to just do a bunch of 8-10 milers. I could see doing a 6-miler every 4 hours as a viable strategy for some. And same way with the drinking--just constant microdosing. You should down a beer on the way out the door for each run, have one before you go to bed, and plan to wake up in the middle of the night for another. Drink a little whenever you can so that you never have to drink a lot.
Frontload the running, backload the drinking.
Keep us updated as much as you can! When I did this I posted my Strava runs and put the total beers/miles in the title, but it probably would have been helpful to also add the elapsed hours.
