So then you are able to beat me by about 3 minutes.
In other words, you are 1/2 mile ahead at the finish.
Not enough of a diff to truly critique my methods.... Unless, of course, you wish to be pedantic.
If you do, here are 180 kudos for each second faster you are.
That is about all it gets

I'm not very fast at all, but compared to you I feel elite. I got to 16:41 and 34:55 after about 2 years of running. At age 49, I can still break 17 more than not. However, comparisons to me aren't exactly fair - I actually run when I train. I stopped the walk/run thing after the first 10 days of trying it out after I quit smoking in my 30s.
Pass the popcorn ? or in this case....leftover turkey ? please...?
What is it with American Thanksgiving so close to Christmas?!?! Be smart like the Canadians and have it 3-4 weeks earlier and space your holidays out like any civilized country. Really, this blending of holidays is lending itself to the overall obesity of the American population... one gravy filled feeding trough to another... Moooooo!!!!!
And how are the Canadians looking these days?..?..wait, I need to finish eating my turkey...??♀️

I've enjoyed reading this thread, as it's like watching gasoline sprayed onto a burning house. Mike - you're crumbling quickly. No one, *no one* agrees with or cares about your position. We're just here to fan the flames.
The RD's post was incredibly choice and incredibly necessary. That's FACT. Does anyone start crying when RD's have waves?
And Mike: Hokas+iPhone Armband+Under Armor (WTF???)+Univ of PHX is not a strong play. It's like showing up to a potluck with a Hungry Man.
YA BLEW IT!

There's no reasons to think he's retarded. I think he's mentalley ill though. I used to hang out with that crowd, unemployed folks looking for handouts from society and mooching off parents and boyfriend/girlfriend. I had issued and now I realize that today.
Stoopid Smith is also likely mentally ill. A retarded couldn't write that well or at such length. A nutter could though. Nutters will go on even if you ignore them. I used to start threads on social media where no one answered yet I typed "UPDATE!" like I had followers. I had a little chick-dick, it was pathetic (QUICK name that 80s film)
So don't judge him. He can't' help having a fetish with his own lack of speed which he presents oddly as a character asset. Don't point out he's fulla that BULLshit because then your making fun of how slow he is. Truth.
Hokas??? Too expensive. IPhone armband??? I don't have an iPhone Under armour??? I don't wear that University of phoenix??? Never went there lol What are you talking about?
Oh.... I get it now. You are checking Facebooks lol I never created one of those Or a linked in Or a twitter Or Instagram Or pinterest And FYI, I graduated from UC Santa Barbara, not Phoenix. Thanks

We’re looking a lot slimmer than you morbidly obese Americans.
Saskatchewan really is just bald prairie so let’s not judge and entire country by one vast expanse any more than us Canadians will judge the average American intelect for electing a guy like Trump. Wait a second, that isn’t a fair comparison because the entire popular vote was with Trump....
In Poutine terms, 99% of American’s brains have curds of cheese smothered with fatty goo over greasy fries.... this is how Trump snuck in... plus a healthy dose of reality TV to initiate the sheep. But have no fear, Twitter limits his verbiage to 164 characters so ther is no danger of over taxing the population...
See how I turned Poutine into a mud slinging device?

This is actually true.
This thread was only good for the first 2 or pages and then Stoppit ruined it by acting like a spoiled infant insisting he gets everything HIS WAY.
Technically, that is not what happened. I made my point known, I defended my point, I got personally insulted, and I defended myself. Each time an attack came, I defended. That is what you witnessed.

Thanksgiving turkey trots are essentially fun runs with a clock.
The expectation is that, while it is nice to PR.....you are less likely to do so in a turkey trot.

Leave competitive tone for competitions that matter and leave fun events fun.
Mike
I went to the Oceanside website and saw nothing equating the Turkey Trot to a fun run. There are many fun runs in San Diego and they are called fun runs. This was not called a fun run.
Just because you were treating it as a fun run doesn't mean it was, and doesn't mean that other people should.
Seems a bit rude to the Oceanside race director for you to belittle their efforts to put on a quality race on a USATF certified course, with awards, prizes, and chip timing by calling it a fun run.
Thank Gezus Thanksgiving is finally over... no more Turkey Trots to think about for another year.... or at least a sane person who did not vot for Trump, would just let it go and realize that it might be time to get ready for the next season of racing.
On a running note, 16:42 for an old fart to do a 5K is pretty considering the past smoking and of course living in the States where runners suffer a higher mortality rate than most countries because of the gang bang drive bus.
Here in the great white virgin North you are more likely to be trampled by a moose or mauled by a grizzly... the result is the same, one is a more natural way to die... IMHO

You have thanksgiving on Halloween?
The serious and probably true answer that only I would immediately figure out is that the American growing season lasts longer than the Canadian one, so the harvest and thus the harvest feast occurs later. I won't even fact check it because there has to be some truth to it.
No BW,
I was implying the US Thanksgiving is too close to Christmas so you have a double whammy of holiday feasts filled with over carbed, fat and sugars thus increasing the obesity rate South of the Border.
Your growing season hypothesis has merit.
Here in the the Great White North, Pot will be legal soon so we will have to see if all the stingers have enough lobby power to change Thanksgiving to adjust for the Fall harvest of Weed..... think of all the tax revenues it will generate :)

Suck it up capcake! Strap on some body armour and be prepared for extreme running... kinda like a Boxing Day sale at Macey’s
