Is it flat?

Doesn't look so from the splits
this is a very weak WR, no where near as strong as Komon other of 26'44WR
the ugandan runs 41'17 off 27'44 split whereas when Sammy ran his 1/2M WRs his splits were :
58'53 - 27'47 / 41'29 !
58'33 - 27'27 !!! / 41'30
if Sammy had any interest in this record in his prime, he wouda definitely buried this in the 40's, probably 40-mid / 40-high
Hills in Netherlands ?
he starts with an insane 2:37, then slow downs to 2:55 by the 8k mark, runs 2:35 for the 10th before slowing down again to 2:51, and then closes in 7:51 for the last 3k...
that's insane, he could've gone much faster than 41:17

This are his splits.
To reply about the course it's not flat at all, it has as the name suggets 7 hills.
Not that big but steep enough to slow the runners down quite a lot during several kilometer splits.
If you click on the name of the runner you see the splits.
And also the elevation of the course.
Start is at 38m climbing towards 94m
then it's a bit up and down until the highest point is the race at around 8.5 km at 102 meters.
After this 2 small climbs remain with a max altitude of 97 meters.
From 11 k until the finish you lose 59 meters to get back to 38m
