So what I take from this is that I could do pretty much the same kind of training as the pros, but I'm not born with lungs of steel, so I won't ever reach their level.
Still plenty of local 5Ks to mop up, though.
Also, Brianne and Ashton Eaton look like every boring yuppie couple that I've ever met:
I guess Evan is not a fan of Shalane's cookbook.

no one is commenting on the Kefir?

I've just never heard of this and he seems to drink it every day
You must not spend much time in Whole Foods-y type settings, it is very popular now.
However, I'd much rather have greek yogurt or skyr (a really thick Icelandic yogurt).

Yeah, when I saw that I had a hard time believing that they actually did this. Especially since Jager showed up for the video with his Flashdance outfit on. They also don't really seem to know what is coming next. But if this is real, do you see now why it might take 75 minutes?
Pascal Dobert is the man, but I just can't help but consider all the 8:08 Steeplers back in the day that DIDN'T do this gay workout.

That was probably why they only ran 8,08.

You've never heard of kefir? Do you ever buy yogurt? It's the stuff beside the yogurt, in like, every supermarket I've ever walked in to.

I buy it to put in smoothies, because of the high protein content; much higher than even Greek yogurt. I don't really like it that much by itself though - a little bitter.
Pascal Dobert trains Evan Jager, Colleen Quigley and Courtney Frerichs. Plus he is the strength coach for BTC.
He has been an important part of all of Jerry's runners training and Jerry would not be where he is without him.
All of the BTC runners love him!

Take notes, gentlemen.
This means nothing, toast has a bunch of different applications depending on the way you apply it. Igloi's runners were famous for eating nothing but toast, but it was eaten in such variations that it served very different purposes at different times.
How did he find the time to get on WADA's likely doping list?

That Saturday 2 hour long run looks very isolated from the workouts. I would guess it’s not a just a jog but has quite a bit of tempo intensity.
Also it would be interesting to know the details of those Thursday 200s like pace and rest.

There weren't any 8:08 American steeplechasers "back in the day".

This is off-season training, likely he goes above 100mpw in Winter. Also note that most of his miles are 6:20-6:40, which is like a 10:00 two-miler running 8:00 miles.
So basically jogging between hard workouts; many of us discussed here over and over try to run everything at 6/mi and then run 15:30/32:00. The lesson we never learn ... slow down on the easy days.
