Does the fact that the San Francisco women won the West Regional mean they have a legitimate shot at being on the podium at nationals? Does anyone know if Stanford and Oregon ran their full team and/or took the regionals lightly?

No, they're holograms, man.
Probably good for 3rd or 4th, but the big question mark for me is how will Allie O do? She might be rounding into form and she is tough when even close to 100%
I attended the meet. I'm not an expert, but it looked like Oregon and Stanford were at full strength. I'm not that familiar with San Francisco either, but it was an impressive showing.
Allie O looked good enough to believe she'll a factor on the 18th. She didn't have a lot of finishing speed, but was strong the whole way. Hard to tell how much effort she was expending.
Neale ran well also as she sat at the back of the chase pack and ran away from them of the last 1000 or so.
San Francisco was running its A team so there is no one to add on the 18th.

+1
Regional wins really don't matter. It's ncaas that matter. And if she's in top form then she has a real chance at winning it
Frisco reigns !
The USF women will be vulnerable at the 5 spot on the national stage. They have also run hard at the conference and regional meets. It will be an impressive showing if they can summon another great effort on Nov 18.

Eh, they're only racing 6k so how beat up could they be?
I wonder is the name brand schools get mad at the smaller schools beating them. San Francisco, Portland for men. BYU this year, NAU last year. They get the top talent year in and year out and get beat.
Is it the coaching? If not what else?
It’s spending more track
Scholarships on cross country. Track programs try to have balance.
Until there is scholarship reform for cross country schools can use the track scholarship loophole to enhance their cross country team, then go compete against schools trying to have a balanced track program.
