What's great is Shalane can now pick up some great appearance bank for the next year if she wants.
Maybe, but she is probably finished.

very classy guy, so is Kipchoge, Kamworor is such a huge talent....happy he won
anyone have the top 10 men?
this is amazing, no? wrote:
Hard to imagine Keitany has recently run the distance 10 minutes faster, no? lol
This marathon is a sham, all about money and payoffs.
Yep. 90% at the end.
Rupp would have won New York also

Classy Kipchoge there to congratulate GK. Abdi in 4th.
Abdi is 7th!! Dutch Butter is 6th.
How do all the Americans finish behind a completely unknown Dutch guy who looks like a hedge fund trader?
We discussed this before, Americans don't work hard enough.

Hip, hip, hooray Shalane!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!
Ohmygoodnessgraciousglory ! I am so thrilled to bits for you!
Way to go!
Wow!
Let's see the LRC logic:
Rupp (2:09)>> Kipsang & Kamworor (2:10:56)
Meb goes down to do his signature pushups at the finish -- and he can't as he's picked up by the race staff. It's fitting in a way though -- shows he put it all out there in his last marathon.
paula actually had/has achievements

Yeah I felt the same after Meb won Boston but if the best guys don't bring their A game then it's anyone's race.

Anyone skeptical of shalane's performance??
Not at all. I'd bet my life Flanagan is clean.
There aren't that many people in the world she can't beat. She's always been able to beat everyone but maybe the Keitany's/Dibaba's of the world.

Yeah, he's a classy guy for sure.
That and Kamwo is like his baby brother . Kipchoge helping to mentor him to 2:04 - 2:03 and even faster as the next big thing after him. So happy for both Shane and Kamworor. Shane deserved the win after her recent "fight" with the NOP duo of Rupp and Hasay.
Abdi does not get much attention. He is 40

Jared Ward better be first American. Two of the other three contenders are 40+ years old, and the other hasn't shown any particular skill at the marathon. To PR in the Olympics in warm humid weather is studly. I think he can PR again at NYC.
Ward: 2:10:45
Biwott: 2:11:30
Meb: 2:16:20
Abdi: DNF
Kipsang wins in 2:06:45 with huge negative split.
I may have made the worst set of predictions ever.

Such a fairy tale for Shalane Flanagan. I think you Americans should appreciate this one even more than Galen Rupp in Chicago.
I think Rupp's performance in Chicago is more impressive. He stringed together 4:30-4:40 miles for the last 10k under warm weather! And I am not even a Rupp's fan.
I would bet 90% would appreciate it more. No doping rumors. Near the end of a great career and an American woman hadn't won here in 40 years.
Do you guys think Kamworor knew he had the win and backed off a bit or was Kipsang just closing that fast? Combination of things?
