V Tech is #11. Syracuse is #4. Is there something I'm missing?
"Look out for a potential upset in the men’s as Virginia Tech has come on as of late. The Hokies finished fourth at the Pre-National Invitational and were ranked 11th in the most recent National Coaches’ Poll. Syracuse is going to have its hands full in this race"

PS. Isn't it a little surprising to see editorializing from a coaches association website?
Bold prediction: USTFCCCA say V. Tech might beat Syracuse at ACCs. Really?

SU just needs a 5th, they're strong through 4 then they get torched
-
Virginia Tech has superior milers, Cuse won’t be able to get away, and after Knight, Va tech will torch them. Rest of ACC is weak this year.

"Virginia Tech has superior milers"
Well that is just fantastic, too bad the ACC XC meet isn't a mile -

If the rest of the ACC is weak, then wouldn't that help the Cuse as they won't be hurt at #5? I guess though a smaller field will also mean that Knight won't help them as much up front. -
Iliass Aouani has yet to tun this year... the Italian was 6th at ACCs last year and 128th at NCAAs
-
if Aouani runs and can run with Philo Germano then SU wins comfortably
-
Anyone else watching online? Who is this kid from Georgia Tech?
-
Wish we could have coverage like that for all xc meets
-
lol not even close

They assumed wrong.

Torched by who? I'm keen to know. -
I meant more in general (see Wisco), not at ACCs
-
Sooo, I guess what you meant was Wisco is more important than Conference champs?
-
That awkward moment when Syracuse beats the entire ACC conference in scoring...
-
I mean it is a better measuring stick for nationals than ACCs is... sooooooo

They are editorializing it to get people excited about a race. That is not unheard of regarding sporting events. And if Syracuse has already won, why run the race? Races are run because on the day, the best team wins. That doesn't always mean that they were at their very best or the same result happens another day. #4 and #11 are not necessarily worlds apart, but maybe they are. NC State might step up. After the race, we will know...

There is literally nothing unusual about what they wrote. They essentially said, "Virginia Tech is Syracuse's biggest challenger", which was true. Rojo 100% made a fuss about nothing here.

The article actually said: "Syracuse is going to have its hands full in this race compared to its next one in the Northeast Region."
That prediction struck me as nonsensical (or clueless). More so once the Orange went out and placed 5 guys in the top 9.
