Couldn't disagree with you more. I watched the interview and he seems like an awesome guy. Hard-working, unpretentious Alberta runner now training with Speed River. Hasn't been to Toronto much but so what? Contrary to most Torontonians' belief, it isn't actually the centre of the universe. His blog is good reading and I wish him every success.

If you listen to his post race interview I’m not sure he’s even smart enough to deposit his cheque. Embarrassing.

Easily lost six seconds.
It's 7 seconds that he needed to gain, not 6.
6 would give him 2:18 flat, not sub 2:18.
Look at he video.
He crosses the line 13 seconds into the video.
In order to sun sub 2:18 he would have to be across the line 6 seconds into the video.
That is where he connects with his first high five.
There is no way the celebration cost him the bonus because the finishing clock ticked 2:18:00 when he started the celebration.

what a great and stupid thread.
if you win a marathon, you want to celebrate like that.
who cares about a grand. that is one welfare check.
of course the guy could have broken 218, he had gas left for 10 seconds, and was way ahead.
great win. enjoy the win. savor the win. live in the moment. rock on.
If you read a few posts above your own, you would see that he did not, in fact, "win a marathon."
What a terrible fundraiser. Who is this woman?
It was a terrible fundraiser? Over $2000 was raised in under seven hours. I don't know her, but I do know Trevor, and he is one of the kindest, most down to earth people I've ever met. Literally everyone who meets him loves him and wants to be his friend. He's also not arrogant about his talent, unlike most of the people on LRC.

He's from Calgary. But he does look a little like what we called a "Pepsi" when I was a kid in Ottawa.

What's with the line mustache? Is that a French-Canadian thing?
When I was a kid in Ottawa we had some Quebecois contractors refurbish our basement. The number of Pepsi cans left down there at the end of each day was staggering.
